Agon is a literary journal dedicated to publishing creative works that endure scrutiny and rereading. We aim to reflect the vast range and discordant views that make up today’s intellectual struggles. We publish literary fiction, poetry, book reviews, translations, interviews, editorials, and art, film, and literary criticism.

Submit

We are currently only publishing on our website. Submissions are on a rolling basis. We cannot offer compensation at this time. Please follow the instructions below to submit.

Submissions should:

• Be a Microsoft Word document or a PDF file.

• Be in 12-point font (any font is fine so long as it is consistent throughout).

• Be double-spaced.

• Be under 5,000 words.

• Include the title, genre, and word count on the cover.

• For poetry: multiple poems should all be sent as one document.

• NOT include your name or any other personally identifiable information.

• NOT include a cover letter or authorial bio.

• Be emailed to editor@agonlit.com with the title as the subject line.

Any submissions that do not comply with these instructions will be disregarded.
